How did you get into fishing?
Since Santa Barbara is such a big fishing port, Shane thought going into fishing seemed like a good opportunity, and so he pursued it. He has now been fishing for about 20 years.
How have you connected with the community?
Shane notes that the fishing community in Santa Barbara is really great. He notes that fishing is really good as are the markets, so he feels like he’s in a good spot being a fisherman.
What is your favorite part about your fishing?
Shane’s favorite part about fishing is that it’s so adventurous!
What are your hobbies outside of fishing?
Shane says he does so much fishing that there’s barely any time for anything else. When he does get a little break he likes to go surfing. Shane has been surfing his whole life across Santa Barbara county.
How do you cook what you catch?
Shane suggests grilling and barbecuing any fish that he catches. He is also a huge fan of baked salmon!
