The Subscription Contract – please read carefully!
- You can sign up prior to the start date for the season only while shares last, not during the season.
- When you sign up, you choose a single pick-up location for the entire season. Your seafood will be available for pick up from 5:00 – 7:00 PM either on Wednesdays at Backyard Bowls in the La Cumbre Plaza or Thursdays at Goodland Kitchen in Old Town Goleta.
- Shares will be delivered in accordance with state and federal regulations. Your seafood will be kept at a safe temperature until you arrive. Some species will stay fresh longer than others, so please check the Forum page for any special handling instructions.
- It is important to keep your seafood cold! We will provide the seafood and ice. At your first pick-up, you can either bring your own cooler, or buy a reusable cooler bag for $5. After that, it is your responsibility to bring a cooler/cooler bag to pick-up your seafood. If you forget, we will have additional cooler bags for sale. This is in an effort to reduce the waste of single-use plastic bags and keep your seafood at a safe temperature until you cook it.
- We strongly recommend you refrigerate your seafood as soon as possible after pick up. We are not responsible for the safety of your seafood once it is in your possession.
- Please note, we cannot guarantee that every fillet is 100% boneless.
- If you are unable to pick up your share, please make arrangements with someone else to pick it up for you. We are unable to compensate you for missed shares. For your convenience, there is a message board on our website in the Forum page where you can swap/trade/buy shares from other members. Please make your arrangements directly with the other members.
- Unclaimed shares cannot be stored or held after 7:00 PM due to their perishable nature. Any unclaimed shares will become property of the distribution center.
- Cancelled subscriptions will not be refunded or pro-rated.
- The composition of each week’s share will vary depending on seasonal availability and weather conditions.
- If weather forces us to postpone a delivery, we will make up the delivery the following week or on one of the off weeks. By doing this, we can be slightly more flexible and take advantage of periods of good weather and local availability. If we have to delay a delivery, you will be notified as soon as possible, and we will do our best to work with your schedules.
- Our weather is often unpredictable and there may be times when weather prevents fishing. If weather prohibits a fresh local catch, we may bring in fresh seafood from elsewhere on the California coast, or provide locally harvested frozen or smoked seafood.
